JetSuiteX Review: Semi-Private Jet Experience (LAS to OAK) | Embraer ERJ-135

Want to experience the private jet life without the hefty price tag? If you’re on the West Coast, look no further than JetSuiteX.

JetSuiteX is a semi-private jet experience at an affordable price point. Check-in at a private terminal, bypass traditional security, and hop on an E135 jet.

JetSuiteX recently ran a $49 one-way special to Oakland from Las Vegas, so this was the perfect opportunity to review the service. I was also allowed to stack a $20 referral code, which brought the one-way ticket price down to $28.50! That’s a no-brainer. Most one-way Southwest Airline flights from LAS - OAK cost $49 one-way if you purchase early enough or during a sale.

JetSuiteX Experience - LAS to OAK

The JetSuiteX departure meeting point in Las Vegas is located in a shopping center. Unlike commercial airlines that require you to arrive at least 1 hour before the flight, you can arrive 30 minutes before the departure time to check-in and relax.

One of the perks of flying on a semi-private or a private airline is that there is not a TSA Security checkpoint. However, this doesn’t mean that security precautions are not taken. Some jet services will take a swab of your luggage to test for substances, and others may have a canine unit on-site. You’ll still need a government-issued ID to board the flight.

Each passenger is allowed to check 2 bags with a combined weight of 50 lbs for free, along with a carry-on that fits under the seat. Overhead compartments are not available.

Approximately 15 minutes before departure, a limo bus will arrive to pick up the passengers and drive ~5 minutes to the private terminal.

Hop off the limo bus and stroll up to the jet. On a side note, if a private jet pic is one of your #goals on Instagram, this is probably the cheapest way to do it. Don’t worry, it’ll be our secret. 😉

Semi-Private Jet

The interior of the jet is where the “semi-private” part kicks in. Unlike a Citation X where the seats are like a comfy luxurious lazy boy, the JetSuiteX seats are one step up from a commercial airline. Most small private jets can seat up to 8 passengers, while the larger E135 jet can seat 30 people.

The legroom is an upgrade from a domestic commercial airline, and the snacks are a plus as well! Everything on the in-flight menu is complimentary, including the alcohol selection. Complimentary Gogo smartphone app messaging is also available on the flight.

Conclusion

Overall, I think JetSuiteX was a great flying experience, especially at an affordable price point. If you book early enough, a one-way ticket can be comparable to Southwest Airline prices.

I’m a fan of the private terminal and not getting caught up in a busy airport. The only downside is that the destinations are limited to select west coast cities. If JetSuiteX expands to more destinations in the future, they’ll definitely be on the top of my list of options to fly.
